Day 21

When we started the Raw Milk Diet with Sasha, we signed on for 30 days.  Some times results can be seen sooner, sometimes it may take up to 6 months.  It just depends on how much damage has to be repaired.  We’re now three weeks into this and we have seen some definite progress made …

Day 20

Good news – Sasha didn’t throw up last night due to missed feedings.   We’ll take the little victories too.   Today’s pic:

Day 19

We’re looking at putting Naiyah and Matilda in boarded training and had an evaluation today.  The facility is about an hour from our house so we’d be gone for at least 3 hours.  Because Sasha has to drink the milk every hour (and go to the bathroom frequently), we decided to bring all of the …

Day 18

Jeff watched Sasha today while I went to work.  He says she seemed to chew less on herself and more on her deer antler!    And her belly really does look better.  Even the new pustules on her leg look like they’re starting to heal already.

Day 17

One of the other “symptoms” Sasha has been experiencing during the past few months since all of this started is that she is not processing and utilizing nutrients from her food properly.  We know this because she’d been losing weight for no reason, but also because she eats dirt.  Dogs are amazing and her body …

Day 16

It seems that with all of the attention Sasha is getting, our other girls are getting a bit jealous.  Being that there isn’t much to report on changes with Sasha, here’s a pic of the other girls instead.  Meet Daisy, Matilda and Naiyah. Daisy is our 4 year old Samoyed.  Naiyah is about 2 1/2 …

Day 15

Poop.  No really, that’s today’s topic.  Being on an all-liquid diet, you would think that we’d have some challenges with Sasha’s elimination.  But not really. She has to urinate more frequently.  We feed her 4 oz every hour, starting at 5:00AM and ending around 9:00PM.  I take her out to go potty about every 2-3 …

Day 14

The only thing new to report today is that Sasha is not limping – AT ALL.  She’s still chewing her paw a little, but she seems to be chewing at her legs and back more than her paw.  And because I had the day off of work today and could stay home focused on her, …

Day 13

The limping seems to have subsided.  Oddly enough, when Sasha was younger and had Pano and it jumped from leg to leg, the first leg was the worst and lasted the longest.  Which is what we’ve seen here too.  She is still chewing at her paw a little, but today’s “itchiness” seemed to be more …

Day 12

Seeing is believing. So a few days ago we wrote about Sasha licking her front left paw and limping on that leg, and that we’d been told that this was a side effect of the raw milk diet (click here for original post).  We were as skeptical as you.  However, if you remember, we talked …
